It’s my birthday as I write this. An odd birthday, as I imagine all birthdays happening during this mindful isolation to flatten the curve. A global pandemic puts things in perspective for us all, at least I hope. If anything, many are noticing experiences previously taken for granted: a grocery run, gathering to celebrate a birthday, and I can’t not say it, toilet paper. What a culture we’ve designed for ourselves.
Mama Nature, the universal guidance, whatever you may deem it, has led us here. Whether you believe we are to gather messages from these experiences or this existence is simply a random accident, we can all decide for ourselves how we may wish to consider shaping our behavior whether for the greater good or to make our individual life feel more easeful. Consciousness is your gift to do with what you will.

This last trip around the sun I wrote a lot. Of course, very little of that writing was actually focused on finishing the projects that are mostly complete. I’m an Aries after all. I start projects and leave the finishing to the Virgos. In fact, if I could ask for anything for my birthday it would be some of that interest in actually looking before I leap.
Yet I’ve lived enough life to know that the novelty would wear off quickly and I’d be back to tripping over manuscripts that could be books but for my utter lack of ongoing interest. Those projects are finished in my mind and heart. I did my part. I suppose if I could make copies and hand them out from the trunk of my car like demo tracks on a cassette with the title written in Sharpie somebody might get to read…
